joce01_y on flickr  While most of you will be taking in the various July 4th drink specials around the city, don't forget to step out of the dark bar into the streets around dusk to take in the Macy's fireworks spectacular. Pay close attention though, if you have a go-to viewing location chances are you are going to have to switch it up this year. Brooklyn and Queens get the shaft this year as the fireworks move to the Hudson River for the first time in 33 years. I guess it is to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Henry's discovery, I'm just pissed Jersey is looking at my fireworks display.  40,000 shells will be blasted from 6 barges from between 24th and 50th Streets. You will need to be on 12th Ave. to get a good view of the show...Or somewhere across the river in NJ. Take a look at this link from Macy's for a list of all the NYC access points, and more importantly where you will not be able to see the fireworks from.  Once the show is over get back to your bender weekend.
